The Burlingame Space is the perfect intimate listening room to experience Portland’s finest jazz talent. We’re honored to welcome Cheryl Alex as our special guest on Saturday, November 22nd. Don’t miss this chance to enjoy an unforgettable evening of live music in one of the city’s most unique settings.
One of the best-kept secrets of the Northwest jazz scene, flutist/vocalist/pianist Cheryl Alex has been central among the region's jazz community for over twenty years, appearing regularly and recording with luminaries such as Nancy King, Randy Porter, Leroy Vinegar, Lawrence Williams, and most notably, guitar wizard Jerry Hahn. At home with a wide range of styles, from straight-ahead bebop to tender ballads, Cheryl's versatility shows a masterful command of her instruments (alto flute and concert C flute).
Jazz Interlude will also feature original jazz compositions that both Kathy and Steve have contributed to the band. You’ll enjoy a wonderful range of material, as they each have a style all their own. Eric’s talent for interpreting and Fred’s infectious grooves bring life to the music.
