Get ready to welcome feathered friends to your yard with help from a Parks Tacoma Park Guide and Gardener! In this hands-on workshop, kids will build and decorate their own bird feeder while learning a few fun facts about the birds that call the Pacific Northwest home. All supplies are provided, and each participant will leave with a finished feeder and bird seed to get started right away. It’s a creative, family-friendly activity that combines crafting, nature, and a little backyard science.

Planter Boxes

Sunday, 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Get ready for a beautiful summer with help from a Parks Tacoma Park Guide and Gardener! In this hands-on workshop, kids will assemble their own wooden planter box while learning a few basic tips about gardening and preparing a container for planting. All materials to build the planter are provided, and each participant will leave with a finished box, bagged potting soil, and a coupon to select up to 3 small plants from the Conservatory plant sales booth to finish out their planter! It’s a fun way for young gardeners to build something useful and get excited about growing their own plants.
